7-Year-Old Trapped In Stolen Car During 100 MPH Chase In Western PA: Police

A 7-year-old boy was trapped inside a stolen vehicle during a high-speed police chase in western Pennsylvania over the weekend, New Kensington Police said in a release issued Monday, July 21.

Officers first spotted the stolen vehicle at Tarentum Bridge Road and Caldwell Avenue in New Kensington on Saturday, July 19 and attempted a traffic stop. But the driver — later identified as William Anick, 62 — allegedly refused to pull over and accelerated onto Route 28 heading toward Allegheny County.

As the vehicle fled, police said a woman in the front seat was seen waving her arms outside the window, apparently signaling for help. A child was also visible in the backseat…
