The Valley Refuge Shelter in Riverview Park that was built in the late 1930s has been returned to its former glory.
“The shelter reflects the rustic architectural style that was popular for park structures of that era — durable, natural and meant to blend with its surroundings,” says Alana Wenk, director of advancement for Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
The Valley Refuge Shelter is one of the most frequently rented gathering spaces in Pittsburgh’s CitiParks.
