Pittsburgh Man Sentenced For Federal Drug & Firearms Crimes

PITTSBURGH, PA.- A 41-year-old Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, man and convicted drug dealer will be spending over eight years after he was sentenced on Tuesday, for unlawfully possessing firearms and conspiring to distribute a controlled substance.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Jeffrey Lee Hancock, Jr., 41, of the Braddock neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge William S. Stickman, IV, to 100 months in federal prison, to be followed by a term of supervised release, after pleading guilty to a federal firearms and drug trafficking conspiracy.

In Handing Down The Sentence Judge Stickman Notes Hancock’s Criminal History

In handing down the sentence, Judge Stickman noted Hancock as a “recidivist drug trafficker and illegal user” who was involved in “poisoning our community” through “the dark and dangerous drug trade.” Judge Stickman stated that a sentence of 100 months, at the high end of the advisory guideline range, reflects the serious nature of Hancock’s crimes and should signal to others that a “career of crime, will be met with stiff federal time.’

According To Court Documents

According to documents filed with the District Court, on April 25, 2024, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police executed a court-authorized search warrant at Hancock’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, residence during an ongoing investigation into Hancock’s drug trafficking activities. As investigators entered the home, Hancock threw a bag containing around 50 bricks of fentanyl from a second-story window of the home…
