September in Pittsburgh didn’t just mean sharpened pencils and back-to-school traffic. The city’s dining scene clocked in, too, with a wave of new spots that feel tailor-made for fall: cozy noodle bowls, fragrant Thai curries, late-night desserts and coffee shops that double as living rooms.
Grist House finally launched its long-teased Command Center in Collier, transforming a former military site into a sprawling beer hall. The space is temporarily closed while the new location restocks its taps after its grand opening. Sewickley doubled up with smashburgers at Moonlit and chef-driven Latin plates at Torogoz. Squirrel Hill added a Xi’an noodle shop to its growing roster of regional Chinese restaurants.
Add in a fast-casual Indian spot with naan tacos in Downtown, and you have one too many reasons to skip the grocery store and start eating your way through the season.
