Another scam promising something too good to be true: this one is targeting students at Carlynton Junior-Senior High School, who recently received a fraudulent email in their district-issued accounts.
Channel 11 obtained a copy of the email promising a “job offer” for students and staff members in the Carlynton School District. The offer claims it will pay out $550 for two to three hours of work – three times a week – but school administrators sent out an email saying this is a scam.
In an email, school administrators said all copies of the fraudulent email were removed from students’ inboxes and that access to the affected account was secured. They said there was “No breach of the district’s student information system or any other internal database.”…
