Shopper allegedly stole from grocery store

Bloomsburg, Pa. — A woman repeatedly shoplifted at a local grocery store and stole hundreds of dollars worth of items, according to police.

Charlene Ann Solomon, 41, Catawissa, is accused of taking merchandise from the Giant Food Store on five separate dates in September and October in Scott Township. The store’s asset protection employee provided security footage and receipts showing Solomon removed items without paying.

Police said Solomon placed unpaid merchandise into a plastic bag inside her shopping cart, then went through the self-checkout and scanned only loose items before leaving the store. A store employee provided police with a vehicle tag seen during the incidents, which was traced to Solomon…
