Washington Teen Charged as Adult in Convenience Store Shooting and Robbery

A 17-year-old facing multiple charges was recently arrested by the City of Washington Police Department in connection with a shooting and robbery at a local convenience store. The teen, charged as an adult, has been identified as Julian Asbury of Washington, according to a report by TribLive. Among the charges filed are conspiracy to attempt criminal homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a minor, carrying a firearm without a license, and reckless endangerment.

The incident occurred at Washington Food Mart on West Chestnut Street late Sunday night, where police responded to a reported robbery in progress. A woman was found shot multiple times. She had been playing games on chance machines inside the store when the attempted robbery took place. According to the city’s police department, the woman was lawfully carrying a concealed firearm and was shot as she tried to defend herself. She is currently in stable condition at a Pittsburgh hospital, as detailed in WPXI’s report.
