Pittsburgh lands in the top 10 best U.S. cities to be single and mingle

PITTSBURGH (WTRF) — Pittsburgh is officially one of the best places in America to be single, according to a new nationwide study, and the only city in the region to break the top 10.

A report released by WalletHub ranks Pittsburgh No. 7 out of more than 180 U.S. cities in its annual Best & Worst Cities for Singles list for 2026. The study analyzed 35 factors tied to dating, including the percentage of single residents, social and recreational opportunities and the cost of going out.

WalletHub data show Pittsburgh outperforms most major cities in several key areas:

  • Large single population.
  • Plenty of date-friendly activities, such as parks, museums, restaurants and events.
  • A good balance of affordability and entertainment options.
