A Pittsburgh man wanted by Erie police on charges of burglarizing an ice cream stand on the morning of Jan. 10 was arrested later that day at a pub in Erie, according to city police.
But the suspect, 36-year-old Jarell D. Brown, put up a fight during his apprehension, police reported. Brown, whom police said has one leg and uses a wheelchair, is accused in a second criminal complaint of kicking one officer in the head and biting and spitting on others during his arrest at a Parade Street tavern.
Brown was in the Erie County Prison Jan. 13 on two $100,000 bonds following his arraignments Jan. 11, according to court documents. A lawyer for Brown was not listed on his criminal docket sheets Jan. 13.
