Warren Co. teen flown to Pittsburgh following head-on crash

(WJET/WFXP)– A Warren County teen is in critical condition after a head-on collision with another car early Thursday evening.

According to PSP Warren, calls for that crash came in around 5:06 in the 2000 block of Matthews Run Road in Warren County involving a sedan and a pickup truck.

Police said the driver of the sedan was going around a bend in the snow-covered road when they lost control and drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the pickup truck, trapping her in the car with serious injuries.

Crews were able to extract her from the car and take her to Warren General Hospital. She was later flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene and refused transport. Police said he admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the crash, but charges are pending a toxicology report…
