Pittsburghers, your trash and recycling pickup schedule has been thrown for a loop this week, but for good reason. The Department of Public Works’ Environmental Services needs an extra day to clear the streets, and as a result, refuse and recycling collection for the entire week is being pushed back by two days.
Here’s what you need to know to not get stuck with bins overflowing onto icy sidewalks. Typically, Monday’s collections will now happen on Wednesday. If you’re a Tuesday person, set your alarms for Thursday. And so on, until we reach Friday, folks who will have to patiently wait until Sunday to see their bins emptied.
