A late-night blaze tore through an apartment building on Grant Avenue in Millvale on Tuesday, sending thick black smoke over the borough and pulling in a heavy emergency response. Neighbors described visible flames and a steady stream of fire trucks and other apparatus, as several blocks were cordoned off while crews worked. As of late Tuesday night, dispatchers had not reported any injuries, and firefighters remained on scene to knock down the fire and search the structure.
