More than 230,000 still without power after wind storm downs trees, power lines

After winds near 60 mph rolled through the Pittsburgh region Friday night, downing power lines, more than 230,000 West Penn Power and Duquesne Light customers in the Pittsburgh region continued to be without power Saturday morning.

As of 8 a.m. Saturday, Duquesne Light reported about 112,400 outages in Allegheny County, about 13,110 in Beaver County and 10 in Westmoreland County.

West Penn Power reported roughly 18,770 outages in Westmoreland, 16,500 in Washington, 13,190 in Butler, 9,760 outages in Allegheny, 7,000 in Armstrong and 2,800 in Beaver counties, according to the electric companies’ websites…
