SAXONBURG, Pa. (March 23, 2026) – After much anticipation, and a healthy dose of sunshine, the “A-Train” Alex Ferree has finally commenced his 2026 campaign, joining some of the region’s finest for Saturday’s $4,000-to-win Pot of Gold 3 program at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Imperial, Pennsylvania.
Ferree, a regular fixture within Western Pennsylvania’s super late model scene, finished second at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile, kickstarting competition with the second fastest qualifying time, racing on to finish second in his respective heat race, as well. Mike Norris, another name synonymous with Western Pennsylvania dirt late model competition, won the facility’s season-opening Pot of Gold.
As long as Mother Nature cooperates, Alex Ferree will continue his 2026 season with another appearance at a Western Pennsylvania staple, this time visiting Michaels Mercer Raceway for the annual Chiller Thriller on March 27-28.
