‘I tend to be vigilant’: Pitt students share experiences on public transportation after recent shooting

Despite a recent shooting on Pittsburgh Regional Transit, most Pitt students report feeling safe while riding the bus.

Isabella Aires, a sophomore psychology major, rides the bus every day. She said she is often prepared for a dangerous situation while on the bus, just in case.

“[A shooting] is always a thought in the back of my mind just because of how our society works,” Aires said, “but I try to go to safe areas, and I always try to go with friends so I feel more secure and safe.”…
