A two-alarm fire tore through Trinity United Church of Christ in Indiana Township on Wednesday afternoon, filling the 3700 block of Saxonburg Boulevard with heavy smoke and pulling multiple fire companies into a sustained response. Fire crews were called just after 3 p.m. and stayed on scene working at the church well into the afternoon.
Allegheny County dispatchers confirmed that crews responded to reports of flames inside the building and said firefighters reached the church on the 3700 block of Saxonburg Boulevard shortly after the call came in, according to WTAE. The station reported it had a crew heading to the scene and described the situation as still developing.
Smoke, Traffic And School Buses
WPXI crews at the scene reported heavy smoke pouring from the church while multiple fire companies worked to knock down the two-alarm blaze. The outlet also noted that the Fox Chapel Area School District warned families about bus delays and detours caused by road closures around the fire.
