Man charged with alleged abuse of woman with cerebral palsy: police

A Penn Township man faces charges for allegedly abusing a wheelchair-bound family member with cerebral palsy, police say.

Court records show that Brandon Owens, 45, of Penn Township, faces misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a dependent person, communicating lewd, lascivious, threatening or obscene language and conduct or acts that serve no legitimate purpose. Owens, who was arraigned on Thursday, May 7, was released after posting $25,000 unsecured bail.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, investigators from the Penn Township Police Department began an investigation in March after police were alerted by healthcare workers.
