The Texas Health and Human Services Commission and UT Southwestern Medical Center will officially mark the opening of the Texas Behavioral Health Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 16, highlighting a significant expansion of behavioral healthcare services in North Texas.
The new inpatient psychiatric hospital in Dallas was made possible through substantial state and private investment. The Texas Legislature and Governor Greg Abbott approved $384 million to fund the design and construction of the facility, while Children’s Health contributed an additional $261 million toward the development of a dedicated pediatric wing.
