Duncanville man pleads guilty to two counts of murder, five counts of aggravated robbery

It started as a robbery investigation in Duncanville and ended with guilty pleas to two murders.

Police in Duncanville started investigating 29-year-old Garrett Shay Hamilton in November of 2022 after he was identified as the man suspected of robbing someone at an ATM and then using the victim’s credit card at a Walmart.

After police got a warrant for his arrest, they linked him to two robberies and a murder in Cedar Hill on the same day as the Duncanville robbery, and two separate robberies and a murder in October.

Hamilton was taken into custody a few days later and has pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and five counts of aggravated robbery.

He was sentenced to life in prison for the murders and an additional 25 years in prison for the robberies.
