Scattered showers and below-average temperatures through weekend

Scattered showers and storms remain in the forecast through the middle of next week. Some of you will see some welcome rain, while others won’t see much at all. It’s just the way the setup is. Also, temperatures will remain below average through the period.

We’re waking up to a bank of stratus clouds streaming in from the southeast, but nothing is showing up on radar at the present time. Temperatures have fallen into the 70s. Not too bad!

Keep your umbrella handy, you might just need it over the next 7 days. Two surface features will impact our weather through the weekend. One, a stalling cold front through the weekend…two, the seabreeze front moving in from the southeast. Scattered showers will develop along both features, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours, dissipating after sunset. While nothing is expected to be severe, brief gusty wind, dangerous lightning, and pockets of heavy rain will be the threats…enough to slow you down on the roadway and enough coverage to cause you to monitor the weather through the weeknd and into next week. If you hear thunder, seek shelter immediately.
