What Dak Prescott Told Rookie Cooper Beebe About Position Change

The Dallas Cowboys offensive line will have two new pieces against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 – Tyler Guyton at left tackle and Cooper Beebe at center.

With Beebe being in a battle for the center position with Brock Hoffman to begin the offseason, the rookie quickly overtook Brock and made the position his own.

First, it was getting more first-team reps to then showing out in Dallas’ preseason games, and it quickly became apparent that Beebe was the standout candidate.

But as Dallas prepares to face the Browns and Jim Schwartz’s stout defense, how does Dak Prescott feel about going into battle with Beebe?

“Very comfortable,” Prescott said. “I think it goes back when the coaches made the change, I told him, ‘Hey, get up there make a confident point, be confident in what you’re seeing and then if it’s not, if I want to change it, I’ll just do that, so don’t be hesitant. Understand that you have the talent, you’ve got the makeup to do this.’

“For me it’s just about pouring the confidence I have into him, making sure that he knows he’s got not only me but a locker room and guys who support him and know that he can go do the best and get his job done.”
