Typically, temperatures in mid-October lie around 77 degrees, but this upcoming week, North Texas will see warmer than average conditions. A ridge of high pressure will dominate the area, keeping conditions dry and temperatures on the rise.

Unfortunately, the ridge of high pressure will continue the region’s rain-free streak. It’s been 24 days since DFW recorded any measurable rainfall, and the dry trend is expected to continue over the next few days.

With the grass extremely dry and no rain in sight, the risk for grass fires and wildfires remains high. Any flame that sparks could quickly spread under these conditions. Please be mindful and avoid activities that could ignite a fire.
