North Texas police arrest eight in social media gun trade crackdown

IRVING, Texas — Eight people have been arrested in connection with the possession and sale of Glock switches through social media, according to the Irving Police Department.

The devices transform regular handguns into fully automatic weapons that can fire numerous rounds with a single squeeze of the trigger.

The suspects made their initial appearances in court on Monday. The eight suspects include seven men and one woman, who range in age from 17 to 22. Six of them will be charged with federal gun crimes.
