‘At least it doesn’t melt’: Richardson ice cream store offers sweet deal to draw crowds, even on the coldest day

RICHARDSON, Texas — As temperatures plummeted across North Texas on Wednesday, bringing wind chills below zero and scattered snow from Duncanville to Denton, an unlikely business saw a surge of customers: an ice cream shop.

“It feels like a blizzard,” a young customer named Braden said, clutching his frozen treat at Tongue In Cheek Ice Cream in Richardson.

The shop capitalized on the unusually cold weather with a special promotion: customers could fill any Stanley cup or similar-sized container with three flavors for $10.
