For almost a decade, once a week Ramiro Salas and Jose Testa have served some of Dallas’ best street tacos in pure form — impromptu and casual. Their Friday-night-only market has become a gem in Pleasant Grove with an IYKYK-cult following. (Ramiro’s, we’re sorry for putting your quiet taco spot on blast, but it had to be done.)
Ramiro’s Tacos is sort of hard to track down. Sometimes they get catering gig, so you have to either take a chance they’ll be there or text in advance. What’s the phone number, you say? Well, you gotta put a little work to find that — that’s part of the mystique here. (We’re putting the spot on blast, but not his phone number. Besides, it’s easy to find.)
They’re mostly at Premier Park Fields (11115 Elam Road), starting around 5:30 p.m. on Friday nights and are there until “late.” Conveniently, every Friday, the field they set up near has a series of kids’ soccer games going on, so families ebb and flow for post-game rituals and pick-me-ups…
