Traffic Stop in Hopkins County Leads to Drug Arrest

HOPKINS COUNTY, Texas – A routine traffic stop in Hopkins County led to the arrest of a man found in possession of over a pound of marijuana early Saturday morning.

According to the Sulphur Springs Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle around 1:44 a.m. on March 8, 2025 , near Interstate 30 for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Keylon Tremajne Satterwhite, 25, of McKinney, Texas , was pulled over for a vehicle infraction.

During the stop, Officers detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search led to the discovery of two large air-sealed bags containing a leafy green substance in the trunk. Upon questioning, Satterwhite admitted ownership of the bags…
