Negotiations on Neiman Marcus’ 100-plus-year-old Downtown Dallas flagship store’s future continue

DALLAS — The saga of what comes next for the 100-plus-year-old Downtown Dallas flagship Neiman Marcus store continues.

Neiman Marcus’ parent company, Saks Global, maintains it intends to close the iconic store at 1618 Main St. Monday. Wednesday, though, the Dallas City Council opted to hold off on taking action on the land underneath the store that has been a point of contention around the planned closure of the store for two weeks until April 9.

Last week, Saks Global confirmed to WFAA that it intended to meet with Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert about the store but reiterated that the plan is still to close it on March 31…
