Officials locate body in Lake Lewisville after car crashes into water

LEWISVILLE, Texas — Police recovered a body believed to be the driver who crashed into a North Texas lake Saturday, officials said.

According to the Lewisville Police Department, a car headed northbound on I-35E around 3:35 a.m. Saturday went over a guardrail, crashing into Lewisville Lake. LPD says the Lewisville Fire Department Dive Team responded and, after searching, found and recovered a submerged sedan Saturday.

Around 11:16 a.m. Sunday, the Lewisville Fire Department Dive Team found and recovered a body from Copperas Branch Lake, the department said in a press release. The body is believed to be the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, the release states…
