‘In the right place at the right time’: Video shows Texas police officer save choking child

A police officer in Texas helped save a child’s life after the toddler began choking at a gas station on Saturday.

The officer, identified as Cpl. Lee Higginbotham of the Dallas Veterans Affairs department, had stopped for gas when he noticed a crowd calling for help. A 2-year-old was visibly struggling to breathe.

Realizing the child was growing “weaker by the second,” Cpl. Higginbotham quickly began performing the Heimlich maneuver…
