On August 28, 2025, Dallas Police Auto Theft Salvage Squad, Southwest and South Central CRT Units, and the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force served multiple search warrants in the 2700 block of Kenesaw Drive in Dallas and at two locations in Barry, Texas. In Dallas, officers recovered four vehicles reported stolen out of Dallas; in Barry, three vehicles were recovered after being reported stolen in Dallas, De Soto, and Lewisville. Two additional vehicles with obscured vehicle identification numbers (VINs) were seized for additional investigation.
The investigation determined that two suspects, later identified as 19-year-old Bernado Bustos and 19-year-old Santos Bustos, had stolen the vehicles and were swapping VINs and using the stolen vehicles for parts.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a first-degree felony; and Theft of Property between $30,000 and $150,000, a third-degree felony…
