DALLAS — Federal and state officials haven’t requested help from the Dallas Police Department on immigration enforcement, and DPD hasn’t entered into a formal partnership with ICE, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux stated in a recent letter.
Comeaux’s latest statement on the city’s stance on immigration enforcement came in response to a series of questions from Congresswoman Julie Johnson, D-Dallas. Johnson sent a letter to Comeaux last month after she said, “recent public statements, community forums, and media reports have raised questions about the Dallas Police Department’s position on ICE detention practices and the 287(g) program.”
