A new day-and fresh fajitas-is on the horizon for a vacant DFW storefront. Lupe Tortilla will be returning delicious Tex-Mex fare to the building, following On the Border’s closure earlier this year.
The chain-exclusive to Texas-will be renovating the 5000 State Highway 121 restaurant space. While the previous tenant and Lupe Tortilla have a great deal in common, the work required will still be relatively extensive-paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation describes it as: “Complete interior remodel of existing building. Exterior finish remodel to meet Lupe Tortilla design standards.”
Locals will be able to begin charting the restaurant’s progress before the year is out; work is set to begin on the 8,233 square foot space by December 31 of this year. The project is estimated to wrap by May 31 of 2026, a positive indicator for a late spring or early summer opening…
