SACO, Maine — Police arrested a Texas man Friday in connection with an organized technology support scam that targeted a Saco resident, according to the Saco Police Department.
The scam involved individuals claiming to be tech support employees, convincing victims that hackers had accessed their devices and personal accounts, police said. Victims were directed to install remote access software and move money or purchase gold for “safekeeping,” which the scammers or their couriers would collect.
