Lewisville firefighter, father of three, dies in Fort Worth motorcycle crash

A Lewisville firefighter and father of three young children was killed Thursday night in a motorcycle crash in Fort Worth, officials said.

The Lewisville Fire Department said in a Facebook post Friday morning that Michael Swope died while off duty. Swope had served with the department since 2019.

Fort Worth police said the motorcyclist, later identified as Swope, was traveling eastbound when he struck a guard rail and was thrown from the motorcycle. Swope died from his injuries, and the department’s Traffic Investigation Unit was notified to investigate the crash…
