Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins traveling out of town during winter storm, his office confirms

DALLAS — Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, who is responsible for the county’s emergency preparedness, is traveling out of town during the winter storm, his office confirmed to WFAA.

A picture on social media appeared to show Jenkins on a plane this week, and a spokesperson for his office confirmed in a statement that Jenkins had scheduled travel for this weekend “months ago.”

“The County’s full focus is on keeping people safe and services running,” the statement said. “The Judge prepared in advance ensuring emergency operations and coordination were in place during his travel which was scheduled months ago. Dallas County’s experienced teams are ready to respond as conditions change and he will continue to get regular updates.”…
