Winter weather has arrived in the Dallas area

While KRLD 1080 reporter Austin York was traveling on Southbound 75 heading into Richardson, Texas, Saturday morning, he snapped a photo of a rather rare scene – ice-covered streets.

Dallas-Fort Worth residents deal with higher temperatures than most of the country for much of the year, but they still aren’t able to escape effects from the massive storm moving across the U.S. this weekend. A look at the National Weather Service Fort Worth X account on Saturday showed photos of icy tree branches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and snow plows working at DFW Airport.

“Winter weather conditions are affecting a large part of Texas as we start the weekend. Please stay off the roads if you can. If you must drive, check http://drivetexas.org before you go,” said an X post from the Texas Department of Transportation…
