The Frisco City Council approved a $368,003 amendment to its professional services agreement with Freese and Nichols, Inc. for design services and construction administration of the Cottonwood Creek Trail Extension – Phase 2 at its Feb. 3 meeting.
The amendment expands a contract originally approved in August 2022 for $290,500 to design a trail extension between Frisco Street and the BNSF railroad. The additional funding covers a redesigned alignment for that segment and incorporates a new 1.3-mile federally funded trail segment not included in the original scope.
The city was awarded $4,048,000 in federal Transportation Alternatives funds through the North Central Texas Council of Governments’ 2025 Call for Projects to support construction of both trail segments.
