Broward’s everyday shopping circuit just changed hands. Kimco Realty has acquired two major grocery-anchored centers in Tamarac and Pompano Beach from KPR Centers for a combined $109 million, adding nearly 498,000 square feet of retail space to its South Florida portfolio.
According to The Real Deal, Kimco paid $56 million for Sunshine Plaza in Tamarac and $53 million for Pompano Marketplace. Sunshine Plaza is anchored by Publix and Marshalls, while Pompano Marketplace features a Walmart Neighborhood Market along with Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, Five Below, Dollar Tree, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and TD Bank.
The sale also gives KPR Centers a substantial payday on two long-held Broward properties. KPR’s own deal archive shows the firm acquired Sunshine Plaza for $28.5 million in 2014 and Pompano Marketplace for $46.8 million in 2015, before selling both centers to Kimco more than a decade later.
