Car Slammed Into FPL Power Pole At High Rate Of Speed In Boynton Beach.
The crash happened just after noon at South Military Trail and Pipers Glen Boulevard. BocaNewsNow.com reported on the incident as rescuers remained on the scene. PBSO tells us that Anthony Ferrante, 40, of NW 25th Way was driving a 2018 Audi R8 southbound on South Military Trail when, for reasons that remain unclear, he suddenly accelerated and lost control of the vehicle.
The Audi left the roadway and slammed into the center median before bouncing back onto the road, where it began spinning in a southwest direction, deputies said. The car then veered off the road a second time, jumped the curb, crossed a sidewalk and crashed into an FPL power pole — a collision so violent it split the vehicle in half. The front end came to rest at the pole while the rear section continued southbound through nearby bushes.
Ferrante and his seat were ejected in the crash, coming to rest near the rear section of the Audi, according to PBSO. He was rushed to Delray Beach Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed as the sheriff’s office continues investigating…
