Boca Raton police warned over the weekend that the area has become a target for a phone scam where criminals impersonate law enforcement officers. The city’s residents received numerous scam calls, with the callers claiming to be police officers or other law enforcement, advising the person on the other end of a supposedly active arrest warrant. CBS12 reported that these scammers often use spoofed phone numbers that appear legitimate to lend credence to their false claims.
