7,600 pounds of croquetas marked as made in Hialeah were recalled from Florida and Texas

About 7,630 pounds of frozen croquetas marked as being made in a Hialeah facility, but made in a place without a USDA grant of inspection, were recalled by a Lehigh Acres, Florida, company Tuesday.

Chicken, ham, fish and sausage croquetas from A Tu Gusto also presented a food allergy danger, according to the USDA recall notice.

All the expiration dates of the 32-ounce boxes of croquetas made from April to October have been recalled from Florida and Texas and carry “EST. 11154” in the USDA mark of inspection. That establishment number belongs to La Autentica , 2294 W. 78th St. in Hialeah.

“The plant associated with “11154” had no knowledge it was being used by the recalling firm,” the USDA notice said. “The problem was discovered when (USDA-Food Safety Inspection Service) was performing surveillance activities at a retailer and observed labeling irregularities. After further investigation it was determined that the items were produced at a facility that does not have a grant of inspection and contained allergens not declared on the product label.”
