You just can’t make these things up. Brightline, the high-speed train that has been making headlines lately, is back in the news after a sad incident on Monday evening. Authorities rushed to the scene after reports of a pedestrian being struck by the train in Aventura, Florida.
According to Local 10 News, the incident occurred around 7:13 p.m. near 18600 Biscayne Blvd. The report said when police arrived, they found a woman who had been hit by the train.
Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews.
This incident comes just two days after another Brightline train collided with a fire truck, injuring several people, including 12 passengers and three firefighters.
The frequency of these accidents raises questions about safety measures in place for both pedestrians and emergency responders.
As investigations continue, the community is left wondering: What will it take to ensure the safety of those near the tracks?
With Brightline trains zipping through neighborhoods, the need for better awareness and precautions has never been more urgent.
