Three people were found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide inside a Pompano Beach home after a welfare check Wednesday evening, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
James Sheridan, 80, one of the dead, has been identified as the suspect. He lived in the home with his 72-year-old wife and their son, according to friends and neighbors.
Deputies arrived at the home on South Golf Boulevard a little after 7 p.m. to do a welfare check, the Sheriff’s Office said in a media release. They tried several times to “make contact” with anyone inside the home, but no one answered. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue then arrived to forcefully enter the home.
