New Grooves Kitchen & Daiquiris on Delray Beach’s Atlantic Avenue is a soulful celebration of Grandma

It’s no longer inside a 106-year-old pioneer house, as originally planned, but owner Anthony Barber is very much vibing with Grooves Kitchen & Daiquiri’s new restaurant space in Delray Beach.

Touting modern Southern comfort food and all-day brunch accented with live gospel and R&B music, Barber’s 140-seat Grooves is expected to have its soft opening on Thursday, April 10, on swanky West Atlantic Avenue, just five blocks west of the touristy restaurant row.

Barber, the restaurateur behind locally beloved Troy’s Barbeque, bills Grooves as a lively dayclub serving peach cobbler pancakes, Cajun fried green tomatoes and jerked lamb chops with pineapple rice, paired with frozen cocktails and soulful tunes. The new location is a pivot for Barber, who had envisioned his restaurant inside the historic 1919 Oscar Magnuson House in downtown Boynton Beach…
