Tragedy Strikes Twice in One Week, Two Elderly Women Die in Separate Boynton Beach Traffic Accidents

Two separate car accidents in Boynton Beach have resulted in the deaths of two elderly women within the span of a week. In the first incident, an 83-year-old woman, Barbara Lane, died following a Friday crash. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that the collision occurred when a car, heading north on Jog Road South, did not yield to a van making a left turn onto North Oriole Boulevard, as reported by CBS12.

The crash resulted in Lane’s car being spun into the shrubbery, while the van containing three individuals rolled backward to a stop on the sidewalk. Both drivers were rushed to Delray Medical Center, where Lane later succumbed to her injuries, the Sheriff’s Office stated. The driver of the van sustained serious injuries during the accident, which happened around 4:30 p.m. last Friday.

Less than a week prior, a 75-year-old woman, Linda Zitofsky, died after her involvement in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hagen Ranch Road and Boynton Beach Boulevard.
