Most Broward County services paused for Juneteenth, but essential operations remain available

Broward County, Florida – On Thursday, June 19, county government offices in Broward will be closed so that staff and citizens can celebrate Juneteenth. A lot of public agencies and departments will be closed, but some important ones and a lot of digital services will still be available for anybody who need help or information throughout the observance.

Residents who depend on the county’s 311 Call Center or the Homeless Helpline should note that both will be closed for the day. But you can still get help from the Homeless Helpline after hours by calling 954-563-4357 between 10 PM and 2 AM. This means that everyone can get help at night.

On June 19, all branches of the Broward County Library system will likewise stop doing business in person. The NSU-Alvin Sherman Library, on the other hand, will keep its regular extended hours. Library users can still use digital resources including online catalogs, streaming media, and downloadable books and magazines 24 hours a day, 7 days a week…
