Broward Sheriff’s Office Investigates Shooting at North Lauderdale Apartment Complex

Residents of a North Lauderdale apartment complex were jarred by the sound of gunfire yesterday evening, as the Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting near the 1100 block of Sussex Drive. The shooting, which occurred just after 5 p.m., is under active investigation by BSO’s violent crimes and crime scene units, but details on what led to the incident remain scarce, Local 10 News reported.

Deputies arrived to find bullet holes piercing the windows of a silver car and shell casings littered across the ground. Despite the violent scene, there have been no injuries reported thus far. The Broward Sheriff’s Office has yet to release any information about a possible suspect, as reported by NBC Miami. The Lauderdale at Hampton Pines complex, where the shooting took place, is usually the playground for local children.
