Palm Springs man dies when truck hits bicycle on 10th Avenue North, throws him to pavement

A 47-year-old Palm Springs man died Nov. 10 after a semitruck struck the bicycle he was riding and threw him to the pavement near Lake Worth Beach, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators identified the man as Carlos Vivar. They said the crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. on the 2400 block of 10th Avenue North, just west of the city limits near Interstate 95.

Deputies said Vivar was traveling on the north side of the road and approaching the entrance to a shopping plaza. The truck driver failed to notice the bicycle as he turned the vehicle into the plaza from westbound 10th Avenue North, the sheriff’s crash report said…
