Driver who was going over 100 mph in fatal 2023 crash in Pompano Beach arrested: BSO

More than two years after a crash in Pompano Beach that left one person dead and multiple others injured, a driver who authorities said was going over 100 mph when they ran a red light and caused the collision has been arrested, officials said.

Jezaniah Yaneri Gonzalez, 26, of Hollywood, was arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday on charges of vehicular homicide and reckless driving in the May 21, 2023 crash, records showed.

According to an arrest report, Gonzalez was driving a Ford Focus northbound on North Andrews Avenue approaching the intersection of West Copans Road.

At the same time, the victims were going westbound on Copans in an Infiniti and turning left onto Andrews with a green turn arrow when the Focus ran the red light going over 100 mph in a 40 mph zone, the report said…
