Lauderhill Sunrise Tragedy: Motorcyclist Left Dead In Suspected Hit-And-Run

A deadly early-morning crash on West Sunrise Boulevard in Lauderhill left a motorcyclist dead Friday after what police say may have been a hit-and-run. The crash was reported just after 6:30 a.m., and forensic teams remained on the scene for hours as traffic crawled past the active investigation. Authorities had not released the rider’s identity as of mid-morning.

According to WPLG Local 10, the collision happened just after 6:30 a.m. near Northwest 38th Avenue. Sgt. Parys Thomas told reporters, “Preliminary findings suggest that the motorcycle may have been struck by another vehicle that left the scene.” While crime-scene investigators combed the roadway, officers methodically worked to document and collect evidence.

The motorcycle was found with heavy damage, and investigators have launched an active hit-and-run probe as they search for the vehicle believed to have struck the rider, per reporting by the Miami Herald. Forensic teams stayed on scene to recover debris and map out the crash. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.

Officers temporarily shut down lanes along Sunrise Boulevard while canvassing nearby businesses and homes for witnesses and surveillance video.
